Dr. Kecia Parrish - Veterinarian

Dr. Kecia Parrish grew up in Ohio.

For undergraduate school, she attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Dr. Parrish received her veterinary degree in 1996 from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (Go Buckeyes!). After graduating, she moved to the beautiful Pacific Northwest outside of Salem, Oregon. In Salem, she worked in a small animal practice. Within that organization, she owned her own practice which specialized in the care of llamas and alpacas. While she greatly enjoyed that chapter in her life, she and her husband Kevin decided to move to Columbia, Maryland in 2003.

After the move, Dr. Parrish practiced for seven and one-half years in a small animal hospital in Montgomery County. Finally, making the decision to run her own practice, she negotiated ownership of Hickory Ridge Animal Hospital and the Columbia Cat Clinic in July 2011. Dr. Parrish enjoys serving her community and is happy to have a practice right in the heart of where she lives.

In addition to running her practice, she works with several local rescue groups helping animals in need. Dr. Parrish resides with her husband Kevin, who is a high school math teacher and boy's varsity basketball coach at Gaithersburg High School. Together, they have a wonderful daughter named Addison.
