Dr. Devon Hals grew up in north west Pennsylvania.
She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from SUNY Buffalo in 1997. She earned her veterinary degree at Purdue University in 2001.
After graduation, she moved to Long Island and spent one year in general practice before discovering a love for emergency medicine. She moved to Pittsburgh in 2005 and worked in a busy specialty and emergency practice. In 2009, she moved to Las Vegas to complete an internship in veterinary surgery. She then moved back to Pittsburgh for a year before settling in Frederick, Maryland, with her husband. After the birth of her son 11 years ago, she continued to practice as a relief veterinarian, working in a variety of emergency and general medical practices.
Now that her son is a bit older, she has decided it is time to plant permanent roots and is excited to bring her love of veterinary medicine and years of experience to Hickory Ridge.
When she is not working, Dr. Hals enjoys reading, taking long walks, traveling, and spending time with her family, which includes one cat and three dogs.
